MAN-TLE
'R19 S4 OD Shirt' (Mud Wood Block)
Shirt in a lightweight, breathable high density cotton, linen parachute cloth. Woven in Shizuoka. Features high stand collar, 15mm Corozo buttons and large chest pocket. Relaxed, straight cut with generous room through armholes and relaxed sleeves
*this garment is first folded and clamped between wooden blocks in the Itajime shibori method. It is then immersed in a tannin-rich dye bath made from the bark of local Teichiki wood, and then in iron-rich mud, dorotetsu. This process is repeated 25 times to achieve great depth of colour. Once the clamps are released, the entire garment is again overdyed only using the mud, resulting in the pale grey iron colour, between the lines. Please note that due to the hand-dyed nature of this cloth, slight irregularities in the finished colour may occur. Designed to evolve with washing, wear, and exposure to sunlight. Woven in Shizuoka and hand-dyed by Kanai Kougei in Amami-Ōshima*
